Industry: Bosses in turmoil too

As we explore the history of the northern Vaud region, we discover the mechanics of the industrial crisis. As an exhibition devoted to this rupture prepares to open its doors at the Yverdon museum, Histoire Vivante went to meet a historian who experienced it from the inside: Laurent Tissot did his doctoral thesis on the Paillard company, which, between 1814 and 1989, produced the landmark objects of the 20th century, from clocks and watches to Hermès Baby typewriters, gramophones, the first radios and the mythical Bolex camera.
