The Indian Ocean, a reservoir of greenhouse gases

The Indian Ocean plays a hitherto unknown role as a reservoir for the greenhouse gases methane and carbon dioxide. This is the result of data collection carried out as part of the "The Winds of Change" program of the Swiss Ocean Mapping Expedition.
