The diversity of regional accents and expressions in French-speaking Switzerland is striking. Are they valued, or rather regarded as relics of a bygone age? Are our regional characteristics in danger of disappearing with the increasing mixing of populations? Are we heading for a general standardization of French, or will the interest in regionalisms endure?
