Genetic basis of intracranial aneurysms

A very large-scale study has identified seventeen genetic anomalies linked to intracranial aneurysm. This malformation occurs when the wall of an artery dilates abnormally in the skull, creating a pocket of blood. Nearly 3% of the world's population is affected.
