Close-up on the cause of a cerebral aneurysm

Swiss and Canadian researchers have discovered the genetic origin of a peculiar brain aneurysm. Called arteriovenous malformation of the brain, or AVM, it is an anomaly due to a specific mutation. This rare type of aneurysm is one of the main causes of cerebral hemorrhage in young adults and children.
