Focus on printed electronics

Printing electronic circuits on different substrates, such as paper or Pet foil, is the subject of research being carried out at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research (Empa) and the Swiss ConfederationʹInstitut Paul Scherrer. This technology could make it possible, for example, to print an anti-theft device on the label of a garment, or to affix a sensor indicating a break in the cold chain to a frozen food.
