The end of local abattoirs in Switzerland

Every year in Switzerland, over three million quadrupeds - the vast majority of them pigs - end their lives in a slaughterhouse. The latter have deserted the city, as in Lausanne or Geneva, and today have taken up residence in the green. Health and animal protection requirements have totally transformed the way animals are killed.
