The difficulty of detecting GHB

Gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, GHB, the so-called "rapist's drug" which, when poured into a drink, renders victims manipulable, unwilling or even unconscious. How can we better detect this substance in emergency services to improve the care of drug-addicted people and track it more finely within the population?
