Deployable electrodes for minimally invasive cranial surgery

Scientists at the EPFL have developed a brand-new tool for neurosurgeons: a deployable array of electrodes. The device can be deposited over a large area of the cerebral cortex via a small hole drilled in the skull. This technology could provide a minimally invasive solution for various kinds of pathology, including epilepsy patients.
