Depending on social assistance can jeopardize your residence permit

For foreigners, depending on social assistance can jeopardize obtaining or renewing their residence or settlement permit. Since 2019, the law has become stricter, as from now on even people who have been permanently established in Switzerland for more than 15 years are concerned.
