A key feature of social life, conflict expresses itself in many ways: conflict between different individual identities, conflict between incompatible social values, conflict between minority and majority groups. Conflict is a constant feature of everyday life. We most often emphasize its destabilizing, even destructive potential, but does it also have merits?
