Certain proteins can protect us from our own immune system

In a recent scientific exploration led by the EPFL team, new light is shed on the complex workings of our immune system. This study focuses on the Drosophila fly to reveal innovative defense mechanisms. The main aim is to understand how our defense system can sometimes damage the tissues it is supposed to protect, and how it maintains a delicate balance between attack and protection.
