Scientists at the University of Geneva have made a major discovery in blood sugar regulation: they have noted that beta cells in the pancreas can regulate blood sugar autonomously, without the help of other cells, as previously thought. In the study, adult mice possessing only beta cells had better glucose regulation and greater sensitivity to lʹinsulin than in standard mice.
