Are bees bumblebees?

As a sentinel of the environment, the honeybee is suffering. At this spring's census, four out of ten honeybee colonies had died, the highest figure for ten years in Switzerland. The varroa mite, the vagaries of the weather, lack of food and pesticides are all to blame. For thousands of years, human beings have had a strong bond with the honeybee, the only insect whose status is ambiguous.
