ADHD may be associated with a risk of age-related dementia

A study conducted by the University of Geneva and the HUG shows that attention deficit disorder, with or without hyperactivity, ADHD - which affects around 3.5% of adults - could be linked to an increased risk of later developing dementia. Abnormal iron accumulation in certain brain regions is thought to be one factor.
