ADHD, a disorder that is diagnosed late in women
Légende
"Dumpling, on dumpling, on dumpling, on dumpling": this is how Jade talks about her life. She lives with ADHD (attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity), a disorder that affects men and women equally, but for which boys are still diagnosed three times more than girls in childhood. Women living with ADHD are diagnosed later, which may be explained in part by the fact that early studies paid little attention to the manifestations of this disorder in young girls, as Nader Perroud, head of the Emotional Regulation Disorder Unit at the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG) points out.
