Winter, what a story!

In 1878, Switzerland was on the verge of a minor revolution. Far from urban centers, in what was to become the very posh resort of Saint-Moritz, the Hotel Kulm lit its palace restaurant with a bulb powered by electric current. This was a first in Switzerland, and an innovation that was no stranger to the tourist boom in the Engadine resort.
