When the Milky Way and Andromeda collide and merge

Observers are adamant that a collision between our own Milky Way galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy is inevitable. It will happen in 4 billion years' time, and the Earth and the Sun will be safe! On the other hand, the two galaxies will become one with a completely different shape.
