The Milky Way is not homogeneous

Contrary to what astrophysicists thought, the gases and metals that make up the Milky Way, our galaxy, are not homogeneously mixed. This is revealed by a study from Geneva. Simulation models of the Milky Way's evolution will have to be modified in the light of this discovery.
