Volunteering: when you love it, you don't count!

In Switzerland, volunteering means 9.8 billion unpaid hours and a monetary equivalent of 434 billion francs. 41% of the population is involved free of charge in the activities of sports, cultural, militant, charitable or political associations. But the world of volunteering does not follow the same codes and rules as the more structured world of work. Often, you donʹt have to count the hours, and you have to work under difficult conditions. Who are these volunteers who sacrifice part of their time? What do they get in return for their work and availability? Is giving easier than receiving?
