School hours are detrimental to teenagersʹ health

Légende

In French-speaking Switzerland, school start and end times vary considerably from school to school, often depending on transport links. According to research, the youngest children (aged 4-5) can start at 7:35 a.m. in Neuchâtel and 7:40 a.m. in Fribourg. Older children (aged 12-15) generally start around 7:30. Yet numerous studies show that these early-morning schedules are not adapted to the physiological needs of teenagers.
