An English study has just estimated the price of a cigarette: 20 minutes of life. The phenomenon is more marked in women, with 22 minutes compared with 17 minutes in men. And these lost years of life are years in good health, rather than sick years at the end of life. Is this study, with its shocking title, a good means of prevention?
