One Health: the impact of microbiota on the health of rural Ethiopian communities

As part of the "One Health" approach, the Ethiopian University of Jigjiga and the University of Lausanne have collaborated on a joint project to analyze the microbiota of Ethiopian agro-pastoralist populations. Their study aims to understand challenges such as child undernutrition and antibiotic resistance, by exploring the interactions between humans, animals and the environment in these rural communities.
