Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to inventors of lithium-ion batteries

On October 9, 2019, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to John Goodenough, Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino. These three researchers developed the lithium-ion batteries that now equip everything from cell phones to hearing aids and electric cars.
