Naruhito's coronation ushers in a new era in Japan

The name of the imperial era that will accompany the reign of Emperor Naruhito - after the abdication in a month's time of his father Akihito - is pronounced "Reiwa". The two ideograms making up this word can mean "pleasant" or "order" and "harmony" or "peace".
