The MLF, the women's liberation movement

In the climate that followed the May 68 movements, women decided to demand their rights, particularly sexual rights. This was a genuine revival of feminism, breaking with the first feminist wave that had fought for equal rights and an improvement in the status of women: the new movement called for the liberation of women and the overthrow of patriarchal society.
