Merino wool

Légende

Merino sheep produce much more wool than other breeds, due to their numerous bulges and folds of skin. These physical peculiarities make shearing more complicated, and in some countries lead to the brutal practice of "mulesing": a surgical procedure to prevent hair growth in certain areas of the body. This practice is banned in Switzerland. Under pressure from consumers, more and more merino wool products are displaying a "mulesing-free" certification. Merino wool is very comfortable to wear and easy to care for.
