Lʹenfer

Lʹenfer occupies an important place in the Christian imagination. While there are few references to lʹenfer in ancient texts, images depicting it are much more numerous. The function of these representations was to structure society and channel the violence of crowds. While today we no longer depict hell, photojournalism provides us with unbearable images on a daily basis.
