How can we combat "junk science"?

Science brings scientific proof to the questions researchers ask. Unfortunately, this evidence is not always as solid as we think. We've seen a priori serious studies published in leading scientific journals disowned and withdrawn a few years later. How can we prevent "bad science" from being published?
