Germany becomes Europe's leading economy in recession

The German economy has tipped into the red in 2023 with a 0.3% fall in gross domestic product (GDP), weighed down by the crisis in the industrial sector, which is suffering from energy costs and export difficulties, the Destatis institute reported on Monday.
