Figures dʹintellectuels: André Gorz, reinventing life

On September 22, 2007, he informed his loved ones in surprising terms: "Gérard Horst, known as André Gorz, and his wife Dorine have united in death as they had united for life". By voluntarily ending his life to accompany his wife, who was suffering from an incurable disease, this Jewish intellectual of Viennese origin, who in his youth was close to Sartrian existentialism, a youth he spent partly in Lausanne where he met the love of his life, built up an original and highly critical body of work on capitalism.
