Distributing money to citizens, a solution to boost the economy?

A member of parliament from the Jura region wants the Swiss National Bank to pay out 500 francs to every citizen in the country, in the form of vouchers, to support the economy. This proposal harks back to an old idea, known as the monetary helicopter.
