Disorienting the malaria parasite to prevent it from causing harm

Microbiologists at the University of Geneva have identified a unique molecular sensor in Plasmodium, the infectious agent of malaria, which enables it to adapt differently depending on its environment, whether in human red blood cells, saliva or the intestines of mosquitoes.
