More than 15 years after the complete sequencing of the human genome, DNA provides vital information about an individual's genetic heritage. Its analysis can make it possible to detect, and therefore potentially neutralize, certain abnormalities at the root of disease. But while this technique is full of promise, it also raises a number of ethical questions.
