Cybernetic love: the union of man and robot

What if the alternative to ultra-modern solitude lay in a still very (too) unheard-of option: that of choosing a robot as life partner, husband or wife? Wouldn't contemporary man, individualistic and in a hurry, be able to fully savor the companionship of an artificial intelligence with skilfully arranged finery?
