Curatorships

In Switzerland, around 105,00 adults are under curatorship, according to 2023 figures. That's almost 1.5% of the population over the age of 18. Curatorships aim to accompany and control the affairs of people who can no longer manage their daily lives independently. What does curatorship involve? How can we do this work without restricting too much the individual freedom of people under curatorship?
