Beijing to host the 2022 Winter Games and make history

This is a major first in the annals of the Olympic Games. One city has been awarded both Summer and Winter Games: Beijing will host the 2022 Games, after those of 2008. Between these two dates, times will have changed considerably for China, which has entered a zone of stagnation.
