Are dual nationals Swiss like everyone else?

By surrendering his Italian passport upon his election to the Federal Council, Ignazio Cassis has given new prominence to the issue of dual nationality. A far from marginal issue, since for reasons of migration, profession, encounters or dʹhistoires dʹamour, over 20% of Swiss people hold another passport. Are dual nationals just like any other Swiss?
