60,000 francs to launch your life at 18?
Légende
Give a fixed sum to each person, every month, regardless of what they produce. This is the principle behind the unconditional basic income, rejected by the Swiss people by over 70% in 2016. Guillaume Mathelier, maître dʹenseignement at the Haute école de gestion in Geneva, has been working on this subject for some twenty years. He proposes combining universal income with a "capital dʹémancipation", ideally of the order of 60ʹ000 francs, to be received by each young person on coming of age.
