Why is there no drug yet for Covid-19?

Advances in medical research have come under intense scrutiny over the past year and a half, as they represent the hope of a way out of the crisis. But many are wondering why no specific drug against Covid-19 is currently available, when a vaccine could quickly be brought to market.
