It's in this market-garden region that the Centre for Hydrology and Geothermal Energy at the University of Neuchatel is studying the evolution of the groundwater table. In Switzerland, 80% of drinking water is drawn from these aquifers. Yet we don't know how these water reserves are renewed, where the water comes from, or how quickly they fill up.
