A transplantable artificial kidney?
Légende
In the journal "Nature Communications", we read that researchers at the University of California have just developed an innovative concept for treating kidney failure. Rather than opt for a traditional kidney transplant requiring immunosuppressants, they have created an implantable device the size of a sardine can. This device contains a biocompatible material housing a bioreactor, connected to blood vessels, and would replace kidney function.
