A series of kidnappings and assassinations has triggered a wave of demonstrations, some of them violent. And worried eyes are now turning to Gaza, where widespread conflict between the Israeli army and Hamas threatens to erupt with the resumption of aerial bombardments on the Palestinian enclave.
