Swiss German: my beloved dialect

Dialects, patois and accents vary around the world. But only Switzerland has elevated its dialect to the status of language, identity and heritage. Indeed, since the 70s, Hochdeutsch, the written German language, has been losing ground to Schwyzerdütsch, the spoken language. Why is Swiss German so popular, especially among young people?
