Receding glaciers create new ecosystems

Global warming is turning nature upside down, particularly in the mountains: this summer, you had to climb to over 5000m. to find the 0°C isotherm. This rise in temperature is causing the ice to melt, freeing up virgin spaces where new plants are taking root. Scientists regularly survey the Alps to observe the evolution of these species and their new ecosystem.
