Qatar conquers its history - A desire for sovereignty

Unknown even a quarter of a century ago, Qatar, a small country in the Arabian-Persian Gulf, has been booming for the past two decades. Its hosting of the Football World Cup has, however, brought to light the other side of the Qatari miracle, notably human rights violations and disastrous working conditions on construction sites.
