Professional gap between parliamentarians and the public

The professions of those elected to the Federal Chambers are not very representative of the Swiss population. While citizens are primarily commercial employees, salespeople and entrepreneurs, the proportion of lawyers, farmers or doctors is significantly higher under the federal dome. Is this disparity detrimental to democracy?
