New method allows paternity test at 7 weeks of pregnancy

It is now possible to carry out a paternity test in early pregnancy, when the embryo is only 7 weeks old, i.e. 2 to 3 weeks late in menstruation. This new method, via a simple blood test, makes it possible to support a decision to terminate a pregnancy in cases of sexual assault, for example, when it is not known whether the progenitor is the aggressor or the current partner.
