The launch of Galileo

Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, has officially sent out its first signals. But we'll have to wait a few more years for the public to be able to pick up these signals. Today, the Galileo system relies on 18 satellites, and there will be 24 by 2020, with a further six satellites in reserve.
