Hygienic products: VAT to be reduced

Menstrual hygiene products, such as tampons and sanitary pads, will be taxed less in future. Following in the footsteps of the National Council, the Council of States on Tuesday tacitly backed a lowering of the VAT rate from 7.7% to 2.5% in a broader revision of the law.
